Our Story
Our story began many years ago when I was a young child. I grew up around all kinds of animals on my parent's farm. They had ostriches, longhorn cattle, emus, rheas, horses, pheasants, and llamas to name a few but the one that enchanted me most was a hedgehog. Ever since then, I had a dream to have a hedgehog of my own one day. Then, my son mentioned wanting one, so we took the plunge! One led to two...and I KNEW I wanted to breed these prickly lap cactuses. Not all of our hedgehogs were socialized when we brought them home though, and it was tough. Our kids wanted to handle them, but couldn't. We knew we wanted to raise happy, healthy, and socialized hedgehogs.
Our Team
Great Lakes Hedgehogs is a husband-and-wife team. We were married in 2009 and have four children together. When we aren't busy homeschooling our four kiddos, we can likely be found at church, on a soccer field, or in our backyard gardening.

Dawn is the hedgehog lady. Dawn handles all customer communication, breeding, pedigrees, and care for the hedgehogs.

Jeremiah jumps in wherever he is needed. Jeremiah designed the Giles Jogger bucket wheel and makes the wheels that GLHH sells.
