We proudly offer lifetime breeder support. Whether you have questions about nutrition, behavior, housing, or general care, we're always happy to help you find the best solution for your hedgehog.​

We also provide a six-month congenital health guarantee. This guarantee covers congenital defects only, meaning conditions that were present at birth. It does not cover illness, injury, or death resulting from accidents, neglect, improper husbandry, inadequate heating, poor nutrition, or any other preventable cause.​

In the unfortunate event of a hedgehog's death, the owner is responsible for all veterinary and/or necropsy costs. A replacement hedgehog will be offered only if a necropsy performed by a licensed veterinarian confirms that the cause of death was a covered congenital defect.

In addition, GLHH offers a lifetime guarantee against Wobbly Hedgehog Syndrome (WHS). If a licensed veterinarian determines through a necropsy that Wobbly Hedgehog Syndrome was the cause of death, GLHH will provide a replacement hedgehog.

Our Adoption Policy

​

To help protect the health and well-being of our hedgehogs, families who already own a hedgehog may only purchase another hedgehog of the same sex. For example, if you currently own a female hedgehog, we will only place another female with you. Likewise, if you own a male, we will only place another male. We do not sell opposite-sex hedgehogs to the same household in order to prevent accidental breeding.

If you are an established breeder, we will ask for your breeder initials and the name of your mentor. We are committed to preserving healthy bloodlines through careful selection of our breeding animals and pairings.

Breeding Policy

Our hedgehogs are sold as companion pets unless otherwise agreed to in writing.

Breeding rights are not included with the purchase of a pet hedgehog. Breeding any GLHH hedgehog without prior written permission from Great Lakes Hedgehogs is strictly prohibited.
